The Taiga 5K pack is perfect for everything from day trips to week-long hunts in the mountains. The Taiga 5K has a standard volume of 4000 in³ and is able to fully expand out to 5200 in³ when the extra volume is required, and the total weight is just 5 lbs 8 oz with our Altai frame.
Our Taiga pack series are purpose built for backcountry trips in the harshest environments possible and designed to have optimal load distribution and easy access. The bottom of the pack flares out into a bell shape that provides extra volume at the bottom for the lighter, bulkier gear that typically isn’t needed during the day. The profile shape of the bag has a wedge shape to it. The wedge shape helps to push the larger, heavier items higher up and against the frame for optimal weight loading. The wedge shape also makes it easier to load gear from the top by creating a funnel shape into the bag. Our Taiga packs also have an optional, fully removable lid that locks into place to prevent the lid from shifting and falling forward. The lid can be used with both the Taiga 5K and Taiga 7K to prevent purchasing redundant gear.
